Rupaul’s Drag Race Season 10 episode 1 premiered just after one week from All Stars Season 3. Where does the time go?
When I first saw the Season 10 promo I thought all the queens look the same. Mostly white, with lotsa nose contouring. But it turns out this season is one of the most diverse cats of RPDR of all time.
There are a record breaking five queens from NYC in Drag Race. Two of which look like twins. This is the youngest cast in herstory as well.
The workroom entrances saw a number of queens who are either daughters or sisters of RPDR alumni. Aquaria is season four winner Sharon Needles’ drag daughter and has been waiting until she was legally allowed to go on Drag Race.
Up against Aquaria is Miz Cracker. Cracker is a NYC contestant who is the drag daughter of season eight winner, and my personal favorite, Bob the Drag queen. These are the twins I’m talking about.
Asian O’Hara is drag mother to RPDR’s super villain Phi Phi O’Hara, and Mayhem Miller who is in the same drag family as All Stars’ Detox, Morgan Micahels and Delta.
Vanessa Vanjie Mateo is the daughter of season three finalist and All Star, Alexis Mateo. But her mother raised her wrong, Vanessa went home first.
The challenge this week was Drag on a Dime. The queens walked there looks under the judgemental gaze of former contestants, including Derrick Barry. Mix Cracker was on top and same with Mayhem. Miz Cracker made Rupaul laugh hard with saying there are no accidents in fisting. Well there actually are this one time… never mind. While Vanessa Vanjie Mateo and Kalorie Karbdashian was on the bottom.
Neither queen gave us a great deal to work with during the lip sync, but Kalorie pulled a minor stunt queen move by making it rain cash and gave us some beefy twerking.
