The Leaving Neverland documentary was disturbing enough, but one thing that stood out to me was the mock wedding Michael Jackson had with one of his accusers. CCTV footage of the king of pop shopping for a wedding ring in disguise with a young boy has emerged. If you want to stay up to date with more pop culture happenings, hit that subscribe button.
The archived news footage, shot in 1989 at a Californian store, shows the disgraced King of Pop and a young boy shopping for a wedding band. The boy is believed to be James Safechuck, one of the men who accused Jackson of repeated child sex abuse in Leaving Neverland.
In the CCTV footage, Jackson can be seen wearing a disguise including a stick-on moustache and false teeth to shop for the wedding band.
The 1989 news report stated that Jackson was shopping for a “ring” with Safechuck and alleged that Jackson planned to marry Sheryl Crow, who was his backup singer.
The footage has new meaning after watching Leaving Neverland, where Safechuck said he and Jackson staged a mock wedding.
What do you think of the CCTV footage? Is this Michael Jackson shopping for a wedding band to have a mock wedding with one of his victims? Or is it for Sheryl Crow? Let me know what you think in the comments below and don’t forget to subscribe!
