Katy Perry’s “chained to the Rhythm” is coming on Friday, February 10th. The pop star gave her fans a taste when she shared a clip on social media of a rolling chained disco ball and about 5 seconds of audio. The single featured a disco-tinged reggae sound that sounds like nothing she has ever done before.

Billboard released a now deleted report that the new song was produced by Skip Marley, one of Bob Marley’s grandsons. The production credits say the song was written by Katy, Sia and Swedish producer Max Martin.
People around the world are getting an early listen to the song by plugging their headphones into random, chained disco balls that play the song in full. It’s a great way to hype up the track and make sure the song won’t leak, because it’s literally chained!
There’s even one in my home city of Toronto! Represent.
I had a chance to listen to it and it’s a complete banger and a bop.
